April-May Happenings

Hope everyone has had as much fun as we have being able to get outside (when its not raining :) The boys sleep so much better after a day playing out in the fresh air, we are able to open up our windows, and the amount of activities available to us have greatly expanded. The boys continue to grow like weeds and have us laughing constantly. Here's an update on them both:

Easton has got quite the attitude these days. the term "threeager" holds very true in our household. He is still the sweetest child but man o man can he turn on the water works at the drop of a hat. Most of the time its for ridiculous things such as: not being able to wear the undies or socks he wants (bc they are dirty); not waking Ben up (he likes to go in and wake Ben up with us in the morning....but there are times when Ben gets up before Easton and those mornings don't go as smoothly lol); we walk down the stairs before him and "beat him"....you get the idea. There are many times I have to look away so he can't see that Im giggling at his foolishness. We have also entered the world of bad dreams. He can't quite decipher btw dreams and reality so there are some nights/mornings where I hear his door slam (he has to close his door behind him for some odd reason) and he will stand in the hall saying "dada" or sometimes "mom" although I am always the one that gets up first, but obviously dad scares away monsters way better than me so I understand :) There are times when he wakes up and just can't put himself back to sleep so he comes in claiming that he heard thunder. Saturday night he said "I heard thunder yesterday" LOL! Its so sweet though so either Brian or I will go tuck him back in and sometimes lay with him until he falls back asleep.

Easton has also become the world police in our house. If you say the word "butt" in any context you will hear a giant gasp and then "mom/dad/whoever ......we don't say that word" and he is obsessed with what we can and can not say. For example yesterday I said "thats ridiculous" and he replied "ahhhh mom do we say ridiculous" so I had to let him know that ridiculous was in fact an okay term to use...lol Also along the lines of things that come out of his mouth these days....he was helping Ben with something and I said "Easton you are such a great big brother" he replied, "well thank you lady" WHAT? So funny!
we love our spiderman PJ's

and...we LOVE our Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle PJ get up

Love how much they LOVE each other

Benny has started saying more words outside of mama and dada. He has mastered "uh oh" and how and why to use it. However now he thinks its funny to drop his sippy cup or toy on the ground and say "uh oh" all smiley! He says Ball and when we ask "where your ball" he will crawl to the playroom and find one. He says "up" "stop" and "bye bye" and waves bye bye as well. He continues to be our food machine. This child will literally eat anything and everything you put in front of him. We have to be so careful about what we leave where he can reach and Easton gets so angry when he goes to drink out of his cup and its empty. Ben can drink out of a sippy cup and a cup with a straw. He still refuses to walk on his own. He will walk holding onto furniture, our hands, Eastons huge dump truck, or his walker but he just won't do it alone. We seriously had to buy him lil baby knee pads for daycare bc he crawls on the cement when the kids are outside playing and started scraping up his knees and ruining his pants lol. He LOVES climbing stairs and lucky us he even figured out how to open the baby gate....so now we have to set a chair in front of the gate at the bottom of our staircase...not ideal. This child has no fear. He continues to be super snuggly and if he can see me he has a hard time letting anyone else hold him. I can't believe how big he is getting. We have his 15 month apt coming up in a couple weeks. Time flies when your having fun...and chasing two crazy boys all day long!
He has a habit of falling asleep during lunch on Fridays. We play pretty hard!

Rainy day= finger painting on wax paper with pudding...a little mess never hurt anyone

Boymom is right...my naked lil crazy man!

Mothers Day was great. A week prior we celebrated with Grammie Kalasek. Brians parents are currently in Hawaii for a vacation. We had a nice dinner and let the kids play and run around all night. They all had fun taking turns riding Brian's dads new ride lawn mower. Our cautious Easton had to get used to it a bit before he thought it was fun, but Benny couldn't wait to ride and loved every second of it. By the end of the evening both boys were riding with dad and waving at us all.

For mothers day weekend the boys spoiled me with flowers, a solo shopping trip, dinner, and a mommy and me mini photo session. I can't wait to see those pictures. We spent the evening at my parents house so the boys could give Nana French her gift. These boys are blessings every single day, but Mothers Day is certainly fun and meaningful bc I get to also celebrate all the amazing mothers in my life as well. I am so lucky to be surrounded by unconditional love and role models who help me to become a better woman and mother daily!
