Kalasek Kiddos: Merry Christmas 2012

Hope everyone had a very blessed holiday weekend! I am exhausted but had such a great time! Christmas definitely takes on a new meaning when you have a child. You get to see the magic of the holidays in a fresh new way! Easton had so much fun playing with cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Even with all the commotion the holidays bring he did so well and loved every minute of it!!!! He's such a good lil boy!

Christmas Eve Tom and Halley drove in from KC. We went over to my parents house around noon for some chilli and to catch up! We put Easton down for a nap and us "big kids" hung out and did our gifts. Once we got done being spoiled by one another we got Easton up so we could watch him being spoiled by his grandparents and aunt and uncle. It took him awhile to get into to the ripping of the wrapping paper, but once he caught on he had a ball! He got a workbench and tools, adorable outfits, an elephant that pops balls out of his trunk, his first nativity set, savings bonds, etc. Aunt Halley and Uncle Tom were very entertained by Easton and vice versa. They played tag around my parents kitchen island and helped him set up and play with his new elephant game. After gifts and hanging out we headed to Christmas Eve service. Easton had to say "hi" to everyone he saw. He lasted about 17minutes and then Brian took him out of the sanctuary. He wasnt crying but anytime it was quiet he wanted to yell, or talk to the people behind us, or crawl on the floor etc. Of course daddy doesnt mind playing with him in the "cry room" or out in the other areas of our church so they had fun while we attended the service. Brian said when they were in the "cry room" with the other kids and their fathers Easton decided he wanted to pull out all the baby dolls and give them kisses...and my son likes open mouth kisses LOL...That was Brian's que to maybe take him in the hallways and let him move around a bit. After church we had a very nice dinner at Johnny Italian Steakhouse. After a few appetizers, bottle of wine, and amazing meals we called it a night and went home to bed so Santa could visit. We had a wonderful night. I am so grateful to have such amazing, generous parents who do so much for our family. We also made sure to let Halley know how wonderful we think her parents are for being so selfless and allowing us to enjoy the holidays with her in Omaha. They are the greatest people...(Halley as you read this make sure to let your parents know how much we appreciate them).

Christmas Day we got up and opened our stalkings from eachother and let Easton see what Santa had brought him! Although he doesnt know who Santa is this year it was still fun to let him pull things out of his stalking. It was so special and fun to share Christmas morning with just the 3 of us. After we got Easton dressed we headed over to my parents house for pancakes and to help get ready for the French clan to invade. Everyone came over and we watched Christmas movies on TV, caught up, let Easton and Kobe entertain us, and went through pictures of Cece and family events from the past. Brians parents came over to have lunch with us and hang out a bit too which was very nice! My dad put together a trivia game for the grandkids. It was questions about Papoo and Cece (his parents/my grandparents) and their upbringing and family history. It was boys vs girls and unfortunately the boys won (by 1 pointe ONLY). It was very fun and then we all got our gift from Cece. It was very touching considering its only been a little over a month and a half since she passed. We broke out another game (battle of the sexes) and everyone played this game and the GIRLS WON!!!! All in all it was a very successful holiday and so nice to see everyone for a positive event. I know my parents were thrilled to have both Tom and I home at the same time! I know I said this before but we are truly very blessed to have such a fantastic family. Easton doesnt realize how very lucky he is to be surrounded by so much love & generosity. Enjoy the pictures of our fun filled weekend! God Bless!
