Kalasek Xmas; 15 months old; Happy 2013

We had such a lovely Kalasek Christmas last weekend. We got over to Julie and Dennis's early so I could share the video I created capturing Eastons first year. Then Aunt Angie, Uncle Patrick, and little cousin Baylor came over and the fun really began. Easton had fun playing in Grandma's Tupperware drawer in the kitchen. He threw everything out of it and then put it all back in. He can make quite a mess but he always cleans up after himself (of course he also put his socks in with the Tupperware when he was cleaning up LOL).

We all got wonderful gifts from Julie and Dennis and the kids of course were more than spoiled :) E has very generous grandparents. Easton got such cute outfits, college $, a Mickey Mouse hat that I cant wait for him to wear, and so much more! Easton had fun showing everyone his tricks, talked to us all night, and tried sharing all his toys with Baylor. I cant wait for next Christmas when they are both mobile and running around! Its so nice having us all in Omaha bc I know they will grow up being such close cousins/friends.

Julie and Dennis had all of Brian and Patrick's toys from childhood out. They kept them in their original boxes and they were all in tip top shape. It brought back tons of memories for the boys and even for me bc I remember having most of those toys as well. Easton will have so much fun playing with them all!

Sweet lil angels!

Easton had his 15 month doctor appointment last Friday. He is doing great and she was so impressed by his wide vocabulary. Of course my smarty pants son has figured out that the doctors office equals shots so he was great until the nurse came in to weigh him and then the flood gates opened. Screaming, crying, and clinging to me like crazy! This was just while she was trying to weight him...unfortunately it didn't get better from there LOL! My little man is still a little guy but his stats are going up in the right direction, so although he is at the small end of everything (besides head size) he is growing and gaining weight steadily which is what matters. He was 21lbs (29.7%) and for height 30.5" (25.9%) and head size 48.8cm (91.58%). As my doctor gently puts it...it just means he wears bigger hats LOL!

She wanted to see him walk. I let her know that he has only taken a few steps here and there but seems to have no desire to walk at all. He stands up without holding on to things and will dance and shake his little bottom on his own but that's about it. She still wanted to see him attempt it so she grabbed him and took him across the room. He of course wasn't too excited for someone besides me to be holding him and I thought for sure he would collapse to the ground and go into a full blown tantrum...well i was WRONG. my child didn't just walk across the room to me he SPRINTED. He moved so fast you would've thought the ground was on fire. LOL My jaw dropped...couldn't believe what I just witnessed. :) She said he just doesn't truly trust himself yet and he will get up and do it when he feels confident enough, but not to worry bc obviously he is capable of walking. When we got home I got ready to show Brian Easton's walking/sprinting skills. He stood nice and tall for daddy, leaned back, fell on his bottom and took off on all fours...so now he walks when he wants, crawls when he wants, and we just let him do his thing. :)

For New Years we decided to stay in this year. We both had to work all day and frankly the thought of getting dressed up after a full day of work was less than appealing, plus after being away from Easton all day all we wanted to do was play with our little monkey. We ended up all getting in our PJ's and heading over to my parents house. My parents made mussels, crab legs, corn casserole, salad, and lots of fun appetizers. We pop'd some bubbly and had a nice meal and just lounged around. We were going to watch a movie but ended up just talking and letting Easton be the main entertainment. Easton was up way past his bedtime. He was playing so hard and would be playing so hard and then just collapse on the floor and put his Head down...after a few minutes he'd pop up to play some more....this went on for about 45 minutes....we were in tears we were laughing so hard. Around 10:30 we decided it was time to head home. Easton was fast asleep before we even got out of their driveway. :) Brian and I did get our midnight kiss in (although I fell asleep and woke up about 20 minutes before midnight...then went back to sleep shortly after).  Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year. 2012 was so good to us and we are very excited to see all that 2013 brings for the Kalasek Family! God Bless!!!
