Holiday Season 2012

Easton Lately..........

E's personality is out full force. Its so fun to watch him change and grow daily. He had a great time at his sleepover with Grandma and Papa French. He played hard, slept great, and was Im sure spoiled rotten :) Brian and I had a great time on our date night downtown as well.

Easton is very chatty and loves to tell stories....although we don't usually know what he is telling us its still very entertaining to watch and listen. His new word is "stinky". He now has 6 teethe which really changes his smile...No more gummy smiles for this kid. His favorite thing now is to rearrange the stools that go with our kitchen island and he likes to play under the table that sits behind our couch. He is still a dancing fool and loves to "shake his booty". All you have to do is ask him to "shake it" and he starts wagging his behind and groovin'...its hilarious! Brian and I are obsessed with Wheel of Fortune and watch it most nights after dinner( yes we are now old and boring) You know you have an obsession when your son can be in the middle of playing and stops what he is doing to clap along with the contestants....

 Christmas Time is here!!!!!

We cant believe that Christmas is almost here! We have our house decorated. I was very surprised that Easton didn't try to pull down the tree or climb it (since he climbs EVERYTHING). He loves touching it but that is about it. We have a tree in our entryway and one in the dinning room and he loves to touch one tree and crawl to the other and touch that one and then go back to the first tree. It keeps him quite busy :)

This year we decided to participate in the salvation army's adopt a family. We decided that every year from now on we would do this as a family to show Easton how fortunate he is and how very important it is to give back. I know he wont have many memories of doing it this year but I still think its important that we start now and it becomes something that is part of our family's Christmas Traditions. We adopted a family of five and are bringing them their gifts this Friday. I cant wait! We had so much fun shopping for them and after hearing their story you really do realize how fortunate you are. Christmas tends to become stressful for people trying to please everyone and this was a good way for us to step back and realize what the holiday is about. Being grateful, giving back, and enjoying each other!

We had the Morgan family Christmas last weekend in York, NE. Ever since I can remember we have always done Xmas with my grandma and grandpa Morgan fairly early in December. They have always wanted it this way so that they can have an entire day and not have to worry about people having to run off to another holiday event. Also they get to enjoy us before the "stress" and "business" that sometimes overwhelms people this time of year hits and everyone is relaxed and in great spirits! We went to Chance R for their amazing breakfast buffet and Easton got to meet Mr. and Mrs. Clause. I'm not going to lie I was kind of hoping for the "screaming child on Santa's Lap" photo moment but he behaved. i think if we would've let him sit on his lap for a bit longer he might have melted down but he pretty much just looked at us confused as to why he was on this fat guys lap.

My cousins were all together which hasn't happened in years and it was nice to have Michael out of Afghanistan and in the US again. My cousin Brandon has 2 daughters and they love to "babysit" Easton whenever we get together so they wanted to hold him and play with him. It was very cute and he loved all the attention from the girls. After brunch we went over to a nearby hotel and did the gift exchange and just enjoyed eachothers company. My grandpa gave a great speech thanking all of us for coming near and far to be together for the day and how it really meant so much to him and my grandma. They are so amazing and he really hit the nail on the head for me. Christmas shouldn't be about the date on the calendar its more about getting together and enjoying each other. Yes it was only the 9th of December but for us it was our Christmas and they were able to get us all together with no one having something to run off to! Easton played hard and was fast asleep before we even got his car seat buckled up!
