First KC Trip~ Happy Engagement Uncle Tom and Aunt Halley!

My Brother and Halley had their engagement party at the Granfalloon restaurant/bar on the Plaza in Kansas City. We had the best time. We are so thrilled to have Halley officially become part of our family!!!!!
Adorable Decorations!!!!
We left for KC Saturday morning thinking that Easton would nap the entire drive since it was his normal nap time...>WRONG! Poor little guy is teething which makes him have pretty bad diaper rash on occasions. So of course we were in the middle of no where when he needed a diaper change STAT and going potty hurt his little tooshie due to the rash. Luckily we were closer than we thought to a rest stop and Brian got him all cleaned up and put back together....however the rest of the car ride consisted of me and my mom trying to entertain him :) He doesn't like to sit still for very long so even though KC is just 3 hrs away that is a VERY long time for a 1 year old who just wants to be on the move! Grandma French saved the day more than once with her Halloween book that she brought to read to him. It was one of my favorites when I was a little girl and Easton seemed to love it too! She must've read it to him 10 times total btw the car ride to KC and the car ride home this morning.

We met Uncle Tom at the Legends outlet mall. It was rainy but no amount of rain is going to keep my mom and I from doing some serious power shopping....which we did! After a couple of hours there Easton was in DIRE need for a nap so we headed back to the hotel. Easton as you can see below wasn't really cooperating with the whole nap idea at first. My mom and I headed back out to shop at Nordstroms and Brian sent me a message letting me know that the lil monkey had finally succumb to his sleepiness.!

You cant make me nap!!!

Fine..maybe just a little one
After a couple hours of napping we got ready to head to the Plaza. The party didn't start til 7:30p.m. which is usually Easton's bedtime but since we had him take a later nap we were keeping our fingers crossed that we wouldn't have any meltdowns. Easton had a ball and was oooh'd and aaaah'd over by all the ladies both at the party and the waitress/bar staff. He knows how to ham it up and turn on the charm for a crowd that's for sure. He flirted with Halley's sister and pulled out all his best tricks: clapping, "SO BIG" arms (or as Grandma French refers to them "Touchdown" arms) , waving, etc. It was so nice to meet all of Halley's friends and see Tom's buddies that I haven't seen in ages. We had a great time and Easton was still up and happy when we left around 10:30. He fell asleep the second we got into the car though :) It was such a fun weekend trip. Too short but it just makes us excited for the next time we get to see Uncle Tom and Aunt Halley! We are so thrilled for them and cant wait for their big day!
