Hopefully everyone had a very fun and very safe 4th of July! I still am in shock that we are already in the month of July. June was definitely a blur.
Paxton is doing great and getting stronger by the week. We have started putting him in fun baby contraptions for a handful of minutes every once in awhile and he seems to tolerate them well and really enjoys viewing the world from an upright position. We are close to sitting unassisted for a few seconds, but right now he still needs some help maintain his balance while he focuses on using his core muscles. We are starting to use baby sign language with him and hoping that he will catch on soon. He is super interactive now days and very smiley. He is starting to get the stranger danger thing which makes my heart happy :) He has gotten upset a few times when someone new or "not mom" has held him or approached him. I know you shouldn't feel great about hearing your baby cry, but when you spent the first 3 months not hearing any cries you relish that sound!
Easton is starting to get nervous about school....I know its still over a month away, but he is my child which means he always worries about whats coming next. He continues to be amazing with Paxton. Always wants to snuggle, hold him, help with his exercises, and talk to him. If I say "more" to Pax without doing the sign language gesture Easton is the first one to correct me. He would spend 24/7 in our pool if we let him. He loves to dive for things in the shallow end without his floaties on (obviously we are in the pool near him during this). He and the neighbor boy, Ethan, are still the best of friends and always at our house running around or playing Minecraft on their iPads. If anyone wants to give me a 101 class on Minecraft please feel free as I don't get it at all....seems pretty dumb to me lol. Easton continues to relish in getting Benjamin worked up and then acting innocent :) But he also the first one to help me out should I need something. We were about to walk out of the house to run an errand when I told him I would meet him in the garage but I needed to use the restroom first....that child sped like a cheetah to the bathroom just so he could turn on the light for me :) He's seriously the sweetest.
Benny also loves the pool and finds that his favorite thing to do is jump off the board or side doing "belly falops" aka belly flops. He wakes up each morning asking when he can swim and if he can have a Popsicle.....then proceeds to throw a fit bc I will not get him the Popsicle at 7am. He continues to hate the word "no" and will constantly hound you for whatever it is he is wanting to eat or do in hopes that he will break you down. He would make an amazing interrogator someday. No he is still not potty trained. I cant wait for the day I blog and say HALLELUJAH BEN IS NOW USING THE POTTY...but until then just know that this mom is over it. I do enough laundry as it is, so until he really wants to commit Im not forcing the issue. He has this complex of being left so if Easton ever gets out of bed before him you know the second Ben is awake....you hear footsteps, psychotic crying, and then see the saddest face you've ever laid eyes on saying "Easton left me".....if we are in the basement playing and Easton and I run upstairs quickly the same thing happens. Just today Brian dropped the kiddos off at Mary Pat's and about five minutes after Brian left Mary sent him a text with a photo of Benny smiling and saying "dad I didn't get to give you a hug when you left"....My incredible husband got the text and then got off dodge, turned around, and drove back to Mary's just to give him the hug. Brian said Benny was thrilled and so surprised! #1 Daddy right there!
Brian is finally done traveling for awhile which pleases me to no end. June was tough as he had a few longer trips ( 3-4 nights away) than his regular (1-2 nights away). We are going to start sending Paxton 1 or 2 times a week to Mary Pat's starting next week. Im of course a bit nervous as he's been stuck with me 24/7 for almost 10 months, but it will be so good for him to get constant stimulation, be around tons of kids, and it will also be good for me. Now that we have already crossed the bridge of him yanking out his Gbutton we know that should that happen there I can easily run to her house and replace it myself. He will still get his therapies twice a week so nothing really changes other than he gets more friends to play with a day or two a week.

For the 4th we were lucky enough to have my brother and his family come in town for 4 days. I know I say this every time they visit, but its seriously the best! We don't do a whole lot but just spending time together is everything. The first day Benny came down with a random 103 temp (of course...the child NEVER is sick unless we have plans). He slept for over 12 hours and woke up good as new the next day thankfully. My mom is obsessed with fireworks (or blowing things up....jury is still out on that) so of course we have PLENTY of things to shoot off each and everyday we hung out.

We also got to actually use our pool. Last year when they came out for the 4th it was cold and miserable, so finally we were able to get 2 full days of swimming fun in. Saturday was my dad's birthday so we celebrated with champagne pool side and crab legs. This was also the day Benny slept for 12 hours so that was kind of a bummer not having him join in the fun! Mila and Grayson are getting so big and seemed to enjoy their pool time too. Mila is such a dollie. Its so fun being around a baby girl :) Grayson and Ben are like double trouble. Someone is always mad or using the word "mine" but they also ran around like crazy monkeys having the best time together. Benny still talks about "silly Grayson". Gray LOVES Easton so he spent majority of the visit following after Easton and pretty much doing whatever Easton asked of him. It was like E's dream as Benny purposely does the opposite of Easton's directions.
We took them bowling on Sunday since it was so rainy, but luckily Monday the sun came back out and we got in another pool day. Monday night my dad had his big BBQ taste testing event. He wanted to try out some new sauces and such so my Aunt Jill and Uncle Jack also came to my parents house for dinner that night. Everything was very yummy and we had another cheers with champagne my mom received as a retirement gift. Can you believe she did it? She is no longer a working woman...never thought she would bite the bullet, but she has and I can already tell she is really enjoying her new found freedom. It was fun for us all to be together this weekend to not only celebrate the 4th, but also my dads bday and moms retirement. Lots of French Family Celebrations to be had.

We were all very exhausted from our busy couple of days with family so we took the 4th to just unwind and rest up. We spent the morning swimming with Brian's parents and then literally napped the rest of the day. We did a few fireworks that evening in the driveway, but both Easton and Benny just wanted to crawl into our bed and watch cartoons.....and I was more than fine with that!
