Hope everyone had a safe and fun St.Patty's day and is gearing up for Easter this weekend! March is definitely flying by! We were loving the warm Spring-like weather.....until he went away- BOO! Hopefully it will return soon. I really enjoyed being able to play with the boys outside after dinner and having them crash early and sleep well. Obviously anytime Ben sleeps at all is a win in our book. ;) But if he has spent the day playing outside at MaryPats and finishes his day playing outside at our house we have a better shot that he won't come into our room until at least 3am or later.

For St. Patty's day we didn't do much. The boys and I made Lucky Charm bars and rainbow cake to take to daycare. MaryPat and the kids all made a trap for the leprechaun so they were excited to go see what they caught. (She had dyed their milk green and had gold coins, candy, and shamrock tattoos in the trap....they were all thrilled!) This holiday also happens to be Brian's dad's birthday. I wasn't feeling well so the boys and Brian walked down to their house (how great is it that they can literally walk to their grandparents house) and celebrated with him.

Last Sunday-Wed. Brian had to be in Kansas City for work so we all decided to tag along. The boys LOVE hotels and were so excited they were going to get to see Aunt Halley, Uncle Thomas, and sweet cousin Grayson. We met them for dinner on the plaza Sunday night and it was so good to catch up and let the boys get reacquainted. Monday I took the boys to Crown Center while Brian had a work lunch/meeting. It was great bc they had a Wildlife/Animal exhibit so that burned up a lot of time and energy. We of course had to have lunch at Fritz's which is a family favorite. Its a restaurant/diner built around the concept of trains. Trains actually deliver your meal via a track that runs around the ceiling of the restaurant. If you have kids at all its a must! Later that night Halley and Grayson met me and Benny at the hotel to swim and hang out while Easton and Brian went to the basketball game. Brian was invited to the game Monday and Tuesday night and he took Easton with him the first time. Easton felt so big and cool wearing his special pass and being able to eat all the snacks he wanted in the hospitality suite and watch all the game. Grayson and Ben were both unsure of the whole pool thing. They liked it but didn't want to get in too deep. They mostly wanted to run around, climb the stairs, and watch the older kids who were being wild.
Tuesday Brian had a lunch/meeting no the plaza so the boys and I went along and did some shopping and eating. They had spent the morning swimming with Brian so they were ready to head back to the hotel and rest (and so was I) pretty early in the afternoon. Tuesday night Brian went to another basketball game and the boys and I swam, hit up the free happy hour drinks/snacks, and then got pizza delivered to the room where we snuggled in our pjs and watched cartoons. Benny fell asleep at 6:30 and slept through the night! It makes me so excited to open our pool this summer. Maybe we will get Benny sleeping throughout the night more if he can expend a ton of energy swimming :)
Wed. Brian got the boys in the pool again. He had Ben jumping off the side, floating on his own (with floaties of course), and loving the water even more! Easton made some friends and played catch with some older kids for awhile. We got everyone dried off, packed up, and headed home. We had a great time and look forward to another KC trip that doesn't coincide with work in the near future.

Easton helped me make some Easter snacks for MaryPats this week. We made bunny race cars (twinkies, peeps, gummy lifesavers, and mini nilla wafers); and cheese bunnies (baby bella mozzarella circles and carrots). The boys can't wait for Easter Egg hunts and to see what the Easter Bunny leaves them in their baskets. We wish everyone the most blessed Easter weekend! Jesus died so we could live! So much to be thankful for this holiday and everyday! God Bless!
